I received this message from a guncollector in a posting on the myminiatureguns YouTube page video page and thought I'd share it with my customers:

Hi Joseph, great page BTW, I was watching your " Le Petit Protector " video and have to point out that the ring pistol you have is NOT made by Dyson.

You have the real item not a copy. It is made from nickle silver with heat blued barrel and spring which curves round the ring body. There was also a femme fatale 2mm and the usual 4mm, both pinfire.

The video doesn't show it but the oval escutcheon on the box lid would be made from nickle silver and read Petit Protector with laurels and the edges would be slightly chamfered.

The box would most probably have a jewelers name on the silk inside the lid which would be dyed blue to match the blue velvet which would look either sun bleached or have a burnt/dirt effect. the centre of the ring would be slightly padded .

The tools, one a brush and the other a screwdriver ( sometimes both end to end on same tool ) are nickle silver also.
